Fire Safety If For Everyone

Fire safety is an important part of our life. We often ignore safety
issues like fire safety and water safety until it is either to late or there has
been a situation that has touched our life. Dottie and I work very closely
with children all the time and have found that fire safety is important to teach
from a very young age. In our Child Care we teach Fire Safety and Water
Safety about twice each a year. Although children do get some education
from school for fire safety skills to be effective in the home parent
participation and interaction is the most important element in this area.
Your family has to have a plan and your children need to know the plan and what
to do incase of a fire or other emergency. This will not only help your
children to be more confident but may save their life or the life of one of
their children. As we teach our children we pass on life skills to them
this is one of those skills or traditions that will benefit your family for
generations to come. Children are very curious creatures they want to know
what fire is and what it is all about a misplaced book of matches or lighter
could be disastrous.
In these web pages we have outlined some simple planning and activities
you can do with you children to help them prepare in case of a fire. We
have also included some coloring pages.
