Letter “C” Items
needed:
Each
child is given an 8 ½ x 11 white card stock paper placed in front of them,
taped to the table. This gives the
child ability to focus on items to be glued to paper and not the movement of the
paper. We talk about the letter and
how it sets up, which enables us to recognize it as the letter “C”. One picture at a time will be given and asked,
What is this? With the reply, Yes, this is a cat and it begins with the
letter “C”. Each child will glue picture to the paper until completion of
the task. There is such variety in
this project and lends itself to a group of children that may be at very
different levels of ability. Naming objects, colors, counting, using glue and
placement of pictures are task that may be done individually or with assistance
from the teacher. A
variation on this project with the older children:
Give additional pictures that do not begin with the letter “C”.
Ask the children to only glue pictures on the paper that begin with the
letter “C” sound.
